David Paul Portteus, 67, passed away March 27, 2011. He was a resident of Indianapolis. He was born July 5, 1943 to Paul E. and Mary (Garriott) Portteus. David retired from the Diamond Chain Company in 2008. He had also been employed by Federal Express. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966 during the Viet Nam era aboard the USS Bennington.

David is survived by his mother, Mary Portteus; and his sister, Joan Cole of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Portteus.

Cremation and private services are being handled by Harry Moore Funeral Care. the family wishes to thank Vista Care Hospice for their care during David’s illness. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association of Indiana.
